Ever since the start of human civilization we, humans, have been developing mutual growth with our environment. We have been domesticating animals like horses and dogs to help us on our homes and farms, we have transformed mountains into flat planes in order for us to have a high ground and safe place to live and a lot more. With the help of the nature we have increased the survival rate of humans, we established a community that soon become nations and enables people to harmoniously live with each other. Alongside with these changes and improvements given to humans we mustn’t forget the ideology of protecting the environment.
In a span of less than a century, a numerous account of creatures cease to exist due to human’s irresponsibility and failure to exercise the protection needed by the nature, especially the wildlife. The Dodo bird and Tasmania are one of the creatures that can only be found on documented videos, books and museums but can no longer be found in the wild due to human ruthless greed, and up until now a great list of animals are in the danger of extinction if they will not be protected. Currently, International organizations that aims to protect the wildlife and the nature have conducted joint activity with local governments of different countries in order to preserve the creatures that should be protected. They have initiated projects like deploying rangers that would observe and protect animals from human hunters, they also implemented some seminars to locals in encouraging of protecting these creatures because they play a vital part in our ecosystem, and also they have created sanctuary that could these animals by imitating their natural habitat in order to protect them and nurture them until they have enough strength be back in the wild or until their population can be regulated.
The real problem exist due to human greediness as we can affect them in mostly two ways which are direct and indirect. Direct are those who hunts them using traps and guns, they are using these to kill or capture them and sell them as hunter’s trophy decoration, or some of their parts are used in jewellery like the ivory found in the horns of rhinoceros and elephants of Africa. In some occasions they are being captured to be a delicacy for rich people due to some stories that they contain healthy effect like of those tortoise and other sea creatures that are endangered. The other way is the indirect way, this problem should be addressed on every human because in our small act we are subconsciously contributing on the destruction of their homes and poisoning their food. This way is commonly our disposal method in which we improperly throw our garbage instead of having a mind set for recycling and composite disposal for those trash that can be turned into fertilizer, also big companies and industries should be advised on proper disposal because their waster are off with high toxic that could affect a large amount of bodies of water and land. Implementation of policies to be taught in school as part of their education is necessary in order to inform the next generation about the threat of leaving the protection of the environment, and informing them the current possible feasible solutions.
Protecting the environment is a world agenda and shouldn’t be overlooked which requires immediate actions and planning that should aims to elevate solutions for the rising problems like animals extinction, habitat destruction and improper waste management with the help of improving further the human’s living condition in which we can live in mutual and harmonious ways.
