Introduction

The mechanistic structure that is now common in our community is the product of humankind’s development of an organization, structures, and innovation. As we are living in the industrialized era, there are numerous organizational management and principles that are composed of numerous mechanistic structures. The management team of every organization is developing innovative tools to ensure that the structure is always built on a stronger foundation. This has been considered one of the most conventional ways to ensure that the quality of every organizational department becomes efficient when managing its tasks as well as improving the quality of every service. A mechanistic structure has proper standards that apply a significant pattern of management performances that engage every worker to complete new contributions to improve goals.

Advantages of a mechanistic structure include the centralization of authority wherein the management team established a uniform way of enticing services to operate as one unit. Involved stakeholders ensure that there is a chronological way of having a standardized flow of authority applied with the employees. These are the delegation of tasks, a regular accomplishment of goals, motivational foundation, and increasing the productivity of every department. Mechanistic structure allows procedures that are made in a formal manner, in which there is a unified system of delegating tasks to the employees to follow in a consistent manner. A delegation of procedures allows each employee to engage in a formal way of increasing the operational performance of every organization to ensure that the quality of service is applied and adjusted. There is a specialized function, in which the credibility of every service seeks to consolidate all reports, functions, and activities that are relevant to the institution’s service.

The disadvantage of mechanistic structure issue is the consistency because there are systems that are being applied that does not meet desired outcomes. The reason behind is the implementation of rules and regulations that are sometimes incompatible with the standards of operational procedures. The political nature of the organization is a disadvantage because there are procedures that are restricted by the existing house rules because there are violations that have been applied. Leadership styles are also a disadvantage, especially if leaders want to apply Laissez-Faire leadership style. The reason behind is that it can risk employees from working in a relaxed manner without having the pressure to accomplish their responsibilities in an acceptable manner. Autocratic leadership is also applied when managers are very strict with no privilege of freedom towards the employees is implemented.

As a learning insight, assessment is important to be considered by every management team when promoting a mechanistic structure. The assessment process aims to identify the proposed benefits that are mentioned and monitored by the planning phase made by the leaders. Both strengths and weaknesses are applied or monitored so that the advantage of enhancing an effective leadership style becomes evident with the organization. A mechanistic structure is only efficient when there is a mediation that is regularly scheduled for the employees to discuss the issues concerning with their roles and operations. Managers are always responsible for promoting essential solutions to every concern during the mediation process so that a conflict of interest is quickly resolved with the health care institution. As an outcome of this problem, the efficiency of promoting meetings enhances heads from each department to share their concerns and ideas to promote unity (Griffin & Ebert, 2010).
